How Does It Work?

Thermodynamic steam traps, as their name suggests, operate on thermodynamic principles. They utilize the temperature and pressure difference between steam and condensate to automatically discharge the condensed material from the system.

Steam entering the trap body pushes a disc upward, closing the discharge valve. As the steam condenses and its temperature drops, the pressure on the disc decreases, causing the disc to drop down, opening the valve and allowing the condensate to drain. This cycle continues until the system is continuously draining condensate.
