Its primary function is to safely remove accumulated condensate from steam systems and increase system efficiency. This float and thermostatic trap offers both automatic and precise control.
Working Mechanism
Float Mechanism: The key component of a float trap is a water-level-sensitive float. This float rises as the amount of condensate increases. When the float rises, a valve, along with the mechanical arm to which it is attached, opens, thus removing the condensate from the system. This movement of the float ensures continuous condensate removal and ensures that the system remains in optimal operating condition.
Thermostatic Air Vent: A thermostatic capsule located within the float trap's body detects air and other gases. Air accumulation, which is frequently encountered in the steam system, can negatively impact system efficiency and safety. The thermostatic capsule activates when the air content in the system increases, removing air and other inert gases. This process helps prevent potential problems such as water hammer and ensures more stable system operation.
Safety and Protection: In the event of a malfunction of the float or thermostatic capsule, this device provides two-layer protection. If the float malfunctions, the thermostatic capsule activates and continues to drain the condensate. This feature ensures continuous system protection and uninterrupted operation.
