Thermodynamic Steam Trap Technical Information
TDK-45 The sealing part of the thermodynamic steam traps is stainless steel and the body is made of forged steel C 22.8 material. Thanks to these features, it offers high durability and long life. The product operates safely and efficiently provided that the back pressure does not exceed 80% of the front pressure under operating conditions. TDK-45, which can perform intermittent discharge depending on the condensate load, provides ease of flow and all spare parts are available. The “Y” type strainer is located under the body and cleaning is extremely easy.
Thermodynamic Steam Trap Working Principle
Thermodynamic Process: TDK-45 works using thermodynamic principles. Condensate formed by the condensation of steam causes pressure and temperature changes within the device. This situation creates changes on the moving disc (valve) inside the steam trap.
Movement of the Disc: With the pressure drop in the steam system, the disc partially opens under the weight of the condensate. This opening allows condensate to be discharged. The disc is designed to leave only the condensate in the liquid phase without allowing the passage of steam.
Auto Adjustment: The disc is automatically adjusted according to the pressure difference of the steam and condensate. Thus, while steam leakage is minimized, energy efficiency is increased. When the steam pressure increases, the disk closes more tightly and allows only condensate to pass.
Strainer Feature: TDK-45 model has a "Y" type strainer located under the body. This strainer retains the solid particles in the condensate and thus ensures cleaner operation of the system. The strainer has an easy-to-clean structure.
Efficiency and Safety: The steam trap is usually installed in horizontal pipelines so that it can operate efficiently. This installation method provides a more effective condensate discharge and increases safety during maintenance and replacement operations.
