Pressure Switch Working Principle
. Pressure Monitoring
The pressure switch is mounted on the pressure collector of systems such as water pumps or boosters. Water or air pressure in the system is transmitted to the sensor section of the switch. This pressure affects the spring mechanism inside the pressure switch.
. Spring Contact Mechanism
The spring contact mechanism inside the pressure switch moves according to the pressure in the system. These springs determine the sensitivity of the switch and can be adjusted with a screwdriver. When the pressure reaches or exceeds the specified limits of the switch, the spring force becomes unable to resist this pressure and the contacts inside the switch move.
. Contact Change and Pump Control
Contact change sends a signal to the control board to which the pressure switch is connected. This signal starts or stops the operation of the pump. For example, when the pressure drops below the specified lower limit, the contacts of the switch close, activating the pump.
