This valve is used in medium-sized lines with a nominal diameter of DN65 (2 1/2 in.) and is equipped with a reducer (gearbox) that facilitates manual control.

What is a Lug Type Butterfly Valve and What Are Its Advantages?

A lug-type butterfly valve is a type of valve with threaded holes (lugs) on both sides of its body. This design allows the valve to be bolted between two flanges and offers its most significant advantage:

• Easy Maintenance and End of Line Isolation: The valve can be used as an end of line blanking valve by bolting it to a single flange, or it allows one side of the line to remain under pressure while the other side is removed.

• Durable Structure: The body is generally manufactured from GGG40 or GGG40.3 Ductile Iron material and Epoxy coating is applied for corrosion resistance.

Butterfly Valve Features and Technical Details

• Nominal Diameter: DN65 (2 1/2 inches).

• Connection Type: Lug Type.

• Valve (Disc) Material: AISI 304 Stainless Steel (or 316L). The stainless steel valve provides superior resistance to non-corrosive and light chemical fluids.

• Gasket Material: EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer). EPDM gaskets are highly resistant to fluids such as water, hot water and ozone.

• Maximum Working Pressure: Generally suitable for PN16 (16 bar) pressure class.

• Maximum Operating Temperature: With EPDM seal, it generally operates safely between 110 °C and 120 °C .

• Control Type: Reducer (Gearbox). This allows precise and easy manual on/off operation even in diameters such as DN65.

• Alternative Control: The valve can also be controlled with pneumatic or electric actuators thanks to its top flange that complies with the ISO 5211 standard.
