Peripheral Pump Working Principle
Working Mechanism:
The fundamental operating principle of a peripheral pump is that the impeller's rotation causes the fluid to spin around the impeller blades, accelerating the flow. The impeller creates a pressure difference by pushing the fluid outward from the center. This pressure difference allows the fluid to be drawn from the inlet to the outlet at high pressure.
The pump's impeller collects fluid into small cells with each revolution. The fluid within these cells is continuously accelerated by the impeller, increasing its energy. Because the impeller provides a continuous motion from the center to the periphery, this energy directs the fluid to the pump outlet. The impeller's design ensures fluid transfer with minimal loss and maximum efficiency.
Pressure and Flow Control:
Peripheral pumps, despite their generally small size, are capable of generating high pressure. The pressure generated during operation can be adjusted depending on the impeller speed and the type of fluid. This feature allows them to be used in applications requiring low flow but high pressure.
