Danfoss Thermostatic Valve AVTA15 1/2″ 25-65 ºC
As ORFA Industrial Products Industry and Trade Inc. , we are proud to offer our customers the Danfoss AVTA15 Thermostatic Valve, which provides reliability and efficiency in industrial automation and control solutions. The Danfoss AVTA15 Thermostatic Valve is designed to precisely and reliably control water temperature. These thermostatically operated valves operate without the need for any auxiliary energy source. This feature maximizes energy efficiency by being completely self-acting, eliminating the need for resources such as electricity or compressed air. The thermostatic valve provides temperature control for cooling water in cooling systems and hot water or steam in heating systems. Its stainless steel version is compatible with aggressive media and is suitable for use in demanding applications such as the marine and chemical industries.

Danfoss AVTA15 Thermostatic Valve Operating Principle
The Danfoss AVTA15 Thermostatic Valve is a self-acting valve specifically designed to provide temperature regulation in industrial applications. Operating on the thermostatic principle, this valve continuously monitors the sensor temperature and controls the fluid flow according to the set temperature. Its operation eliminates the need for auxiliary energy sources such as electricity or compressed air, making it an ideal solution for energy efficiency.
Thermostatic Valve Operating Mechanism
Sensor and Set Point:
- The valve operates by monitoring the temperature sensor. The sensor detects the temperature in the system, which is then transmitted to the thermostatic mechanism on the valve.
- The user sets the desired temperature range by setting the setpoint on the valve. For the AVTA15 model, this range is between 25-65°C.
Thermostatic Element:
- The temperature detected by the sensor causes a liquid or gas contained within the thermostatic element to expand. This expansion produces a mechanical movement, causing the valve to open and close.
- As the temperature increases, the thermostatic element expands and opens the valve, thus allowing the passage of fluid (e.g. water or steam).
Flow Control:
- When the valve is opened, coolant flows in cooling systems or hot water/steam flows in heating systems. This ensures the system operates at the desired temperature.
- When the sensor temperature drops to the set value, the thermostatic element contracts and the valve closes, stopping the passage of fluid.
Pressure Sensitivity:
- The AVTA15 can operate at various pressures between 0 and 10 bar and can withstand a maximum operating pressure of 16 bar. This allows the valve to operate effectively across a wide pressure range.
Energy Efficiency and Economy
- Self-Acting: The Thermostatic Valve operates without the need for any external energy source, reducing energy consumption and operating costs.
- Insensitive Structure: The valve operates smoothly even in dirty environments and changing water pressures, minimizing maintenance requirements and ensuring long-lasting use.
- Resistance to Aggressive Environments: The stainless steel version offers reliable performance in aggressive environments such as the marine and chemical industries.
Thermostatic Valve Usage Areas
The Danfoss AVTA15 Thermostatic Valve has a wide range of applications. Here are some examples:
Cooling Systems: Used to control the temperature of the cooling water.
Heating Systems: Regulates the temperature of hot water or steam.
Marine Sector: Can be used safely in aggressive marine environments with the stainless steel version.
Chemical Industry: Provides reliable temperature control with its durable structure in environments where aggressive chemical substances are present.
