What is a Wafer Butterfly Valve and What are its Features?

Wafer butterfly valves are the most common type, sandwiched between two flanges in a pipeline. Their compact design allows them to take up minimal space in the pipeline and are lightweight.

Product Features and Advantages:

• Connection Type: Provides practical installation with Wafer Type connection.

• Valve (Disc) Material: Stainless Steel (AISI 304 / CF8) valve. Stainless steel provides high corrosion resistance to water, moisture, food products and many chemicals.

• Body Material: The body is generally produced as GG25 Cast Iron or Ductile Iron (EN GJS 400) .

• Sealing Material: Sealing is provided by EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) seal, which is resistant to water and moisture thanks to its elastomer structure.

• Pressure and Temperature: Generally suitable for pressure class PN16 (16 bar). Operating temperature range typically between -10 °C and +110 °C with EPDM seal.

• Flow Control: It can be quickly opened and closed by simply turning it 90° and has good liquid control properties.

• Leakage Test: RATE-A (Zero leakage) test is applied according to EN 12266-1 Standard.
