Working Principle of Seismic Motion Detecting Gas Cutting Device
The Seismic Motion-Detecting Gas Shutoff Device is a high-tech security device designed to provide maximum safety in buildings during earthquakes. Its basic operating principle is to detect seismic activity and activate predetermined security scenarios.
1. Seismic Motion Detection: The device continuously monitors seismic activity in its surroundings thanks to its high-sensitivity sensors. These sensors are sensitive enough to detect even the slightest vibrations occurring in the horizontal (XY) plane. The sensors operate in accordance with the acceleration values specified in TSE standards and detect the acceleration generated during an earthquake (in the range of 0+1G / -1G).
2. Data Processing and Analysis: Detected seismic movements are instantly analyzed by the device's internal processor. The processor determines whether an earthquake is occurring by evaluating acceleration values and frequency sensitivity. The device identifies movements above the minimum sensitive acceleration threshold of 0+/-40 mg as earthquakes and takes action accordingly.
3. Activating Security Scenarios: When an earthquake is detected, the dry contact or voltage output on the device is activated, triggering predefined security scenarios. These scenarios include various actions to ensure the safety of the building and its occupants:
- Cutting off the gas flow: Prevents possible explosions and fires by closing the gas valve at the building entrance.
- Cutting or Redirecting Power: Reduces risks from electricity by cutting or safely redirecting building power.

4. Fault and Warning System: The device provides audible and visual warnings in the event of a fault or line disconnection in the gas shut-off devices or other systems it contacts. The internal piezoelectric buzzer emits an 85 dB sound and provides visual warnings via LED indicators. In case of fault conditions, the red LED is constantly illuminated, while in the event of an earthquake, the earthquake LED is red.
5. Energy Management and Battery Support: The device operates between 100-260 V AC 50Hz/60Hz and, in the event of a power outage, continues to operate continuously for 36 hours thanks to its 12V 1.3 Ah battery. If the battery voltage is low, a red light illuminates to warn the user.
