What is a Pakkens Microtac Gas Contact Thermometer?

In addition to its basic temperature measurement function, this thermometer is a control device with contacts (switches) that open and close an electrical circuit when set temperature limits are reached. Gas thermometers operate on the principle that the gas inside them expands and contracts with temperature.

Main Features:

• Gas Operating Principle: The temperature sensor (probe) operates on the principle of expansion/contraction of the gas inside. This enables precise measurements to be made over a wide temperature range.

• Contact (Switch) Design: The thermometer's dial contains one or two electrical contacts that operate according to preset temperature values. These contacts can automatically activate or deactivate a pump, fan, alarm system, or other control element when temperature limits are exceeded.

• Wide Temperature Range (200°C): The temperature range from 0°C to 200°C is suitable for many industrial processes and heating applications.
