Basic Structure of the Manometer

Dry Panel Type Manometer with Rear Connection - Working Principle
Pressurization: Process fluid enters the Bourdon tube through the rear port of the manometer. This fluid, under pressure, fills the tube, increasing the pressure.
Tube Deformation: The pressure generated by the fluid causes the Bourdon tube to expand outward. The tube straightens under the influence of the pressure, and this mechanical action varies proportionally with the pressure.
Transmission of Mechanical Movement to the Needle: The expansion of the tube is transmitted to a gear mechanism inside the manometer. This mechanism transmits the tube's movement to the needle, ensuring the correct pressure value is displayed on the dial.
Pressure Measurement: The needle moves in proportion to the expansion of the Bourdon tube, and this movement corresponds to the pressure value displayed on the scale on the dial. Because dry-type manometers lack a liquid fill, needle movement is directly proportional to pressure changes and is less affected by environmental factors (e.g., temperature changes).
Pressure Reduction: When system pressure decreases, the Bourdon tube returns to its original state, i.e., curls up. This allows the needle to return to its initial position.
