Stainless Steel Cast Centrifugal Pump Operation:
Stainless Steel Centrifugal Pump Suction: Liquid entering the pump through the suction port is drawn into the center of the impeller. This suction process is generally accomplished with the aid of atmospheric pressure. Liquid must be continuously supplied to the pump during suction.
Acceleration: The pump's rotating impeller accelerates the liquid by throwing it outward. This acceleration is caused by centrifugal force, and the liquid gains kinetic energy as it moves outward through the impeller.
Pressure Generation: When the liquid reaches the outer edge of the impeller, this kinetic energy is converted into pressure energy. A diffuser, or spiral casing, placed around the circumference of the impeller controls the flow of the liquid and increases the pressure.
Discharge: Liquid is forced to the outlet port by pressure energy and exits the pump to be delivered to the rest of the system. In this stage, the liquid exits the pump at a higher pressure than the lower pressure it had entering the pump.
