YURTBAŞI DK 1100 Conical Blowdown Valve 4'': Reliable Control for Viscous and Muddy Fluids
The YURTBAŞI Dk 1100 Conical Blowdown Valve is a cast-iron body valve specifically designed for the control and discharge of liquid, semi-liquid, slurry, and powdery fluids in industrial processes. It offers superior performance even in challenging environments where standard valves pose a risk of clogging or jamming. With its 4-inch (DN100) diameter, it is used in high-flow and large-scale lines.
What is a Cone Blowdown Valve and What Does It Do?
Conical Blowdown Valves are valves that periodically discharge (blowdown) sediment, sludge, or thick liquids that accumulate at the bottom of a tank, vessel, or reactor. The tapered design is based on the principle that the conical plug within the valve scrapes its seat as the valve closes. This prevents particles and sludge from accumulating on the sealing surface , completely eliminating the risk of clogging.
Primary Applications: Fluids in liquid, semi-liquid, slurry, and powder form. These valves are ideal for viscous or particulate materials such as liquid soap, ceramic slurry, cement, sanding granules, and asphalt materials.
Features and Advantages of YURTBAŞI DK 1100 Conical Blowdown Valve:
Non-clogging Conical Design: Thanks to the conical valve/plug design, it cleans the sealing surface during closing, which ensures long-term and reliable sealing.
Fluid Compatibility: Ideal for viscous or particulate materials such as oils, ceramic slurry, cement, sandblasting granules and asphalt materials.
Pressure and Temperature Resistance: Generally resistant to nominal pressure of PN10 (10 bar). It can operate safely at a maximum temperature of 200°C with graphite packing or Teflon seal.
Durable Sealing: Sealing performance is high even under high temperature and pressure with pure graphite packing or Teflon seal.
Ease of Maintenance: Low risk of clogging reduces the need for maintenance.
High Flow Capacity: With its 4 inch (DN100) diameter, it is suitable for processes requiring high fluid flow.
Conical Blowdown Valve Usage Areas:
Boilers and Boilers: Discharging sediment and sludge from the bottom of the boiler.
Chemical and Petrochemical Plants: Control of liquids that are viscous, prone to crystallization or depositing deposits.
Ceramics and Construction Industry: Control and blowdown of cement, clay mud, powdered granules.
Food Industry: Transfer lines for semi-liquid and viscous food materials.
