Technical Information
The TKK-41 Thermostatic Steam Trap is designed for durable and long-lasting use. Its body, lid, and strainer are made entirely of stainless steel. This ensures safe use even in highly corrosive environments. The product can be equipped with one of three different capsule types depending on the application conditions. The "S" type capsule is used in standard production, and this capsule ensures continuous drainage.
TKK-41 Thermostatic Steam Trap Working Principle
The TKK-41 Thermostatic Steam Trap is a device that effectively removes condensate and non-condensable gases from the steam line thanks to its thermostatic element. Its operating principle can be summarized as follows:
Steam and Condensate Separation: Steam circulating in the steam line serves as an energy carrier. During this process, some of the steam condenses and becomes condensate. In steam systems, draining this condensate is necessary because it increases system efficiency and safety.
Thermostatic Element: The TKK-41 Thermostatic Steam Trap contains a thermostatic element. This element continuously monitors the saturation temperature of the steam. It operates by sensing the temperature difference between the steam and condensate.
Temperature Difference Detection: The temperature difference between the steam and condensate causes the thermostatic element to expand or contract. When the condensate temperature drops to a certain level, the thermostatic element activates and initiates the evacuation process.
Condensate Drain: The thermostatic element opens a valve at the point where condensate needs to be discharged. This valve allows condensate and non-condensable gases to escape from the steam line. Discharge occurs continuously, monitoring the steam saturation temperature.
Closing and Reopening: After the condensate and gases are discharged, the temperature in the line returns to the steam temperature. The thermostatic element detects this temperature difference and closes the valve. The system repeats this cycle continuously.
Water Hammer Resistance: The TKK-41 Thermostatic Steam Trap is resistant to water hammer. Water hammer is the sudden change in pressure within the system. This resistance ensures long-lasting and reliable operation.
Installation Flexibility: The TKK-41 can be connected to the pipeline in any position. This flexibility simplifies installation and maintenance. Furthermore, the use of appropriate isolation valves increases the safety of maintenance and replacement operations.
