Steam Solenoid Valve – High Performance and Reliable Flow Control
The Steam Solenoid Valve, offered by ORFA Industrial Products Industry and Trade Inc., is an electromagnetically controlled valve that provides reliable performance and high precision in industrial automation systems. Designed specifically for managing high-temperature and high-pressure fluids, such as steam, this valve is an ideal solution for maximizing process safety and energy efficiency.
A steam solenoid valve operates by converting electrical energy into mechanical motion through a magnetic force. When energy is applied, the core inside the valve is activated, controlling the flow of steam. This reliable and responsive design ensures trouble-free operation of steam lines and contributes to the longevity of the system. This valve is particularly preferred in steam generators, boilers, and heating systems, and is known for its high-temperature resistance.

Steam Solenoid Valve Working Principle
Basic Working Mechanism
A steam solenoid valve operates using two main components: the solenoid coil and the valve mechanism. The solenoid coil converts electrical energy into magnetic energy, and the valve mechanism uses this magnetic force to regulate fluid flow.
Normally Closed (NC) Structure
Steam solenoid valves are typically designed to be "normally closed" (NC). This means that when no electrical power is applied, the valve remains closed and does not allow steam to pass. This provides a safe solution in systems where flow must be stopped.
Activation with Electric Current
When an electric current is applied to the solenoid coil inside the valve, the coil becomes an electromagnet. This magnetic field pulls the core inside the valve upward. The upward movement of the core opens the valve's orifice, allowing steam to pass through. Because this process is initiated entirely by an electrical signal, it enables automatic control of the system.
Pilot Operated Valve Structure
A pilot-operated valve opens and closes the valve using steam pressure directly in the line. When steam fills the control chamber at the top of the valve, the diaphragm is pushed down, closing the orifice. When the coil is energized, the control orifice opens, releasing the pressure on the diaphragm and lifting it upward, initiating steam flow.
Automatic Shutdown
When the electric current is interrupted, the coil's magnetic effect is eliminated and the core returns to its original position. In this case, the core closes the orifice again, stopping the flow of steam. This automatic valve closing function prevents unwanted steam leaks in the system, ensuring energy savings and safety.
Steam Solenoid Valve Advantages
Fast and Reliable Operation: Solenoid valves provide instantaneous fluid control with fast response times. This is especially critical in high-pressure and temperature-sensitive environments like steam.
Energy Efficiency: These valves, which operate solely on electrical energy, prevent energy waste by stopping the flow of steam when it is not needed.
Remote Control: Steam solenoid valves, which can be controlled by electrical signals, can be controlled remotely in automation systems, minimizing the need for operator intervention.
Steam Solenoid Valve Usage Areas:
Industrial Automation Systems: Used in production lines where high temperature steam control is critical.
Heating Systems and Boilers: Safely controls steam flow in steam generators and boilers.
Food Processing : It is preferred in steam sterilization and cooking processes in the food industry.
Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industries: Used in chemical and pharmaceutical production processes requiring precise fluid control under high temperature and pressure.
The Steam Solenoid Valve is a reliable, durable, and efficient solution for optimizing your industrial processes. Offered by ORFA Industrial Products Industry and Trade Inc. , this valve ensures maximum performance in demanding applications.
