A floater (or level switch) is a control device that consists of a float that moves up and down with changes in water level, and a mechanism that detects this movement. The FTE-500A model features a microswitch that opens and closes an electrical circuit by the movement of a ball bearing inside.

Working Principle:

• Level Detection: The wastewater level causes the float to move downwards with gravity and upwards with the buoyancy of the water.
• Electrical Contact: The ball inside the floater body changes its position depending on the level change and opens or closes the contact of the micro switch inside.
• Pump Control: This electrical signal is transmitted to the control panel of a drainage or submersible pump. It activates the pump when the water level rises, initiating the draining process. It also prevents the pump from running dry when the water level drops.
