Working Principle
Pressure Sensing:
The Rear-Connected Dry-Type Manometer senses the pressure of the process fluid through a port located at its bottom. This fluid transmits the pressure within the pipe or line connected to the manometer to the pressure element inside the manometer.
Deformation of Bourdon Tube:
A manometer usually contains a Bourdon tube. This tube is a circular, oval-shaped metal tube. Process pressure acts on its inner surface. As pressure increases, the tube's circular shape begins to flatten, and this deformation is transmitted to the manometer's internal mechanism. This deformation of the tube translates into linear motion.
Movement of the Mechanism:
The deformation of the Bourdon tube activates a gear mechanism attached to the tube. This gear mechanism converts the linear motion of the tube into rotary motion. This rotary motion moves the needle on the dial of the pressure gauge.
Pressure Display:
The needle moves on the dial of the manometer and indicates the current pressure. The dial is marked in pressure units, and the value indicated by the needle informs the user of the process pressure. In dry-type manometers, the display on the dial remains accurate and stable, unaffected by vibrations.
Precision and Reliability:
Back-Connected Dry-Type Manometers are ideal for applications that don't require high measurement accuracy, but where reliability and durability are paramount. Being dry-type eliminates the risks of leakage or contamination that can occur with liquid-filled manometers, providing a long-term, low-maintenance solution.
