Basic Working Principle of a Manovacuum Gauge

A manovaccumulator is designed to monitor negative pressure values within a closed system. The device determines the vacuum level by measuring how much lower the pressure within the system is compared to atmospheric pressure. This process is generally accomplished through the following main components:

Pressure Element (Bourdon Tube): The Bourdon tube, the most important component of the manovacuummeter, consists of a flexible metal tube sensitive to pressure changes. The tube is fixed at one end and connected to the system at the other. As the negative pressure within the system increases, the tube stretches outwards. Conversely, if the pressure within the system increases in the positive direction, the tube contracts.

Mechanism and Dial: The stretching motion of the Bourdon tube is transmitted to a mechanical system inside the manovacuum gauge. The deformation of the tube moves the needle on the dial via a gear system inside the manovacuum gauge. This mechanical movement displays the measured pressure value on the dial.

Vacuum and Negative Pressure Monitoring: The Manovacuummeter determines the vacuum level by comparing the pressure inside the system to the measured atmospheric pressure. Since negative pressure is lower than atmospheric pressure, the Manovacuummeter detects this difference and displays it as a measurement result. The device provides the user with important information by accurately monitoring the pressure levels in the system.

Accuracy and Calibration
