The Back-Connected Glycerin Manometer offers a reliable and accurate method for measuring pressure. Its operating principle is based on the deformation of a component called a Bourdon tube. During pressure measurement, the process fluid connected to the manometer enters the Bourdon tube, causing it to deform.
Bourdon Tube and Deformation Principle: A Bourdon tube is a hollow, elastic tube bent into a C-shape inside a manometer. When the tube is filled with the pressure to be measured, the internal pressure exerts a force on the tube's surface, causing it to expand into a flatter shape. This deformation occurs in proportion to the increase in pressure.
Movement Mechanism and Pointer Movement: The deformation of the Bourdon tube activates a gear mechanism attached to the free end of the tube. This mechanism translates the tube's deformation into a rotary motion, which is transmitted to the needle on the face of the manometer. The needle indicates the pressure values on the dial. This allows the pressure generated by the fluid to be read from the dial.
