Wafer Type Electric Actuated Butterfly Valve
The Wafer Type Electric Actuated Butterfly Valve, offered by ORFA Industrial Products Industry and Trade Inc. , is a superior-quality valve offering high performance and reliability in industrial facilities and various applications. This butterfly valve is specifically designed for fluid control and operates quickly and precisely thanks to its double-acting pneumatic actuator.
Wafer-Type Electric Actuated Butterfly Valves are a type of butterfly valve whose closing element is a disc rotating around a shaft positioned vertically. These valves, which can be opened and closed automatically thanks to an electric actuator, have a wide range of applications. The disc rotates around its axis within the pipeline in which it is installed, opening or closing the entire pipe section. Sealing is achieved between the aluminum bronze and the elastic or plastic sealing elements lining the body. These sealing elements also serve as a gasket on the flange between the valve and the pipe.
Wafer-type electric actuated butterfly valves offer the advantages of low pressure loss, easy opening and closing, excellent sealing properties, lightweight design, and a compact footprint. Furthermore, thanks to their electric actuators, they can be remotely controlled and integrated into automation systems without the need for manual intervention.

Wafer Type Electric Actuated Butterfly Valve Working Principle
The operating principle of Wafer Type Electric Actuated Butterfly Valves can be explained in the following steps:
Electrical Signal: The valve is controlled by an electric actuator. An electrical signal is sent to the actuator through the control system or a manual switch. This signal triggers the valve to open or close.
Actuator Movement: An electrical signal drives the actuator motor. The motor converts electrical energy into mechanical energy, driving a gear system within the actuator. This gear system causes the shaft to rotate.
Shaft Rotation: The shaft, rotated by the actuator, is connected to a disc (disc) located in the valve body. As the shaft rotates, the disc rotates as well, regulating the flow of fluid through the pipeline.
Disc Position: The disc can be rotated 90 degrees by the spindle. When the disc is completely horizontal along its axis, the valve is open and fluid can pass freely. When the disc is in the vertical position, the valve is closed and fluid flow is blocked. Intermediate disc positions are used to regulate flow.
Sealing: The disc is in contact with an elastic or plastic seal in the valve body. This seal forms a tight connection around the disc to ensure a seal and prevent fluid leakage.
Feedback: Some electric actuated butterfly valves are equipped with position sensors to monitor disc position and provide feedback. These sensors tell the control system whether the valve is open or closed.
Advantages:
Automatic Control: Thanks to the electric actuator, the valve can be controlled remotely or automatically, which increases operating efficiency.
Quick and Easy Operation: The valve can be opened and closed quickly and takes up little space.
High Sealing: High sealing is achieved thanks to the elastic or plastic gasket.
Low Pressure Loss: Low pressure loss occurs during the passage of the fluid.
Areas of Use:
Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Systems: Provides flow control in HVAC systems.
Water Treatment and Distribution Systems: Used in clean water and wastewater management.
Mining Industry: Flow control in mineral processing and transportation.
Shipbuilding and Drilling Facilities: Marine and offshore drilling applications.
Food and Chemical Businesses: Safe and hygienic flow control in food production and chemical processes.
Oil and Gas Processes: In oil refineries and gas processing plants.
Fire Extinguishing Systems: Safe and fast on/off of fire fighting systems.
