YURTBAŞI DK 1050 Conical Blowdown Valve 2'': Reliable Control for Viscous and Muddy Fluids
The YURTBAŞI DK 1050 Conical Blowdown Valve is a cast-iron body valve specifically designed for the control and discharge of liquid, semi-liquid, slurry, and powder fluids in industrial processes. It delivers superior performance even in challenging environments where standard valves pose a risk of clogging or jamming.
What is a Cone Blowdown Valve and What Does It Do?
Conical Blowdown Valves are valves that periodically discharge (blowdown) sediment, sludge, or thick liquids that accumulate at the bottom of a tank, vessel, or reactor. The tapered design is based on the principle that the conical plug within the valve scrapes its seat as the valve closes. This prevents particles and sludge from accumulating on the sealing surface , completely eliminating the risk of clogging.
This valve, with a diameter of 2 inches (DN50) , is used in medium-large sized industrial lines.
Features and Advantages of YURTBAŞI DK 1050 Conical Blowdown Valve:
Pressure and Temperature Resistance: Resistant to nominal pressure of PN 10 (10 bar). Can operate safely at a maximum temperature of 200°C with graphite packing or Teflon seal.
Fluid Compatibility: Designed for liquid, semi-liquid, mud and powder fluids.
Special Fluid Applications: Ideal for viscous or particulate materials such as:
Liquid soap, industrial oils
Ceramic clay
Cement and sandblasting granules
Asphalt materials
Durable Sealing: Thanks to its conical valve/plug design, it provides long-term and reliable sealing by cleaning the sealing surface during closing.
Ease of Maintenance: Low risk of clogging reduces the need for maintenance.
Conical Blowdown Valve Usage Areas:
Boilers and Boilers: Discharging sediment and sludge from the bottom of the boiler.
Chemical and Petrochemical Plants: Control of liquids that are viscous, prone to crystallization or depositing.
Ceramics and Construction Industry: Control and blowdown of cement, clay mud, powdered granules.
Food Industry: Transfer lines for semi-liquid and viscous food materials.
